Somebody Buy Me a Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS Receiver Already!
I’ll be the first to admit, I’m not a really a serious runner. I’m into the sport to stay in shape and get my exercise, not because I want to maximize my running potential. But I think regardless of my intent, I would see big improvements in my performance if I got a Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS Receiver. I got a chance to play with one recently – my brother-in-law’s – and now I’m smitten! It does the typical things a running gadget is supposed to do, like track pace and mileage and heartrate. What really interests me, though, are the GPS capabilities Garmin added on top of that. Not only does the Forerunner keep track of where you are, it can map the surrounding terrain, guide you back onto your route – or even help you design a new one on-the-fly! It’s accurate and it picks up the satellite signals fast, too. I already rely on GPS in my car; why shouldn’t I have the same service when I’m on my own two feet?
